Screening program curated, and the accompanying publication edited by Nazli Gurlek
This
program focuses on filmic practices related to performance and
performativity employed by a group of artists as a way to adress on the
projection screen topics relevant to both cultural and societal
spheres. Ultimately stemming from a curiosity toward the workings of
social mechanisms and organizational forms, works focus on such
mechanisms as live 'acts' of things said and done through the
process-oriented approach of the filmic medium.
The screenings features video works by Emanuel
Almborg, Ziad Antar, Kalle Brolin, Witte van Hulzen, Mark Leckey,
Anna Molska, Raymond Taudin Chabot, Soren Thilo Funder and Charlie Tweed.
Contributions to the publication include new texts on each work on show by Sebastian
Cichocki, Isobel Harbison, Suhail Malik, Alexandra Navratil, Onder
Ozengi, November Paynter, Sinziana Ravini, Fatos Ustek, Ellen Mara De
Wachter, Francesco Ventrella, and the artist's project Untitled (2010) by artist Ozlem Altin.
