A Journey Through GA’s Mind: Conversation with the curators
March 15 @ 14:00 - 17:00

Saturday, March 15, 14:00
Moderator: Nazım Hikmet Richard Dikbaş
As part of the exhibition I Had Something in Mind, on view at Depo until March 28, a conversation titled A Journey Through GA’s Mind will be held with the participation of the curators Ahsen Zeynep Özdemir, Buse Kökcü, Derya Ülker, Mert Çağıl Türkay, and Reyhan Polat, along with exhibition assistants Dilara Altınkepçe Arslan and Şule Güzeller. Moderated by Nazım Hikmet Richard Dikbaş, one of the contributors to the exhibition book, the discussion will focus on the conceptualization and development of the exhibition, as well as Gülçin Aksoy’s method of collaborative production as an academic and artist.
Featuring a selection of works by artist and academic Gülçin Aksoy, who passed away in 2024, I Had Something in Mind displays the artist’s long-term concerns with issues pertaining to academia, gender, body and existence, and the politics of nature and power. Curated by her students and her daughter, I Had Something in Mind spans different periods of the artist’s practice, and includes previously unexhibited works. Ekmel Ertan, Nazım Hikmet Richard Dikbaş, Nermin Saybaşılı and Zeynep Sayın contribute to the exhibition catalogue with texts on Gülçin Aksoy and her artistic practice.
The talk will be held in Turkish and registration is not required to participate.
