BAK: Revealing the City through Memory
24/01/2014 @ 11:00 - 16/02/2014 @ 17:00
24 January – 16 February 2014
BAK: Revealing the City through Memory is a cultural collaboration and artistic production project realized in 2013 with the participation of young people from four cities in Turkey that are geographically distant from each other. Young people from Batman, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır and İzmir worked together to record different stories from these cities in film and photography projects. The BAK exhibition, the product of a year’s collaborative work and comprising 11 projects, features film and photography works that propose us to take a new look at the memory of the city via places and sounds, that approach issues that have left a mark in social history via personal stories, and that focus on the present condition of public space and cities. The exhibition will be on view in DEPO between 24 January – 16 February 2014; and in Diyarbakır, İzmir, Batman and Çanakkale from February to March 2014.
