The second conversation in the series of events held as part of the exhibition I Had Something in Mind, on view at Depo until March 28, brings together Betül BolatFurkan AkhanHakan CingözŞevket Sönmez and Yeşim Ustaoğlu, moderated by Ekmel Ertan, one of the authors of the exhibition book. Titled Huzur Apartmanı, the conversation will focus on the building that for a long time housed the studios of the speakers and Gülçin Aksoy, a shared creative space that came to life through collective effort and whose doors were open to anyone and everyone.

Featuring a selection of works by artist and academic Gülçin Aksoy, who passed away in 2024, I Had Something in Mind displays the artist’s long-term concerns with issues pertaining to academia, gender, body and existence, and the politics of nature and power. Curated by her students and her daughter, I Had Something in Mind spans different periods of the artist’s practice, and includes previously unexhibited works. Ekmel ErtanNazım Hikmet Richard DikbaşNermin Saybaşılı and Zeynep Sayın contribute to the exhibition catalogue with texts on Gülçin Aksoy and her artistic practice.

The talk will be held in Turkish and registration is not required to participate.
