The first conversation in the series of events to be held as part of the exhibition I Had Something in Mind, on view at Depo until March 28, brings together art historian and one of the authors of the exhibition book Nermin Saybaşılı and artist Fulya Çetin. Titled Networks and Bonds Bind Us, the conversation will focus on GA’s artistic practice, the connections she weaves between people, and the unifying power of these connections.

Featuring a selection of works by artist and academic Gülçin Aksoy, who passed away in 2024, I Had Something in Mind displays the artist’s long-term concerns with issues pertaining to academia, gender, body and existence, and the politics of nature and power. Curated by her students and her daughter, I Had Something in Mind spans different periods of the artist’s practice, and includes previously unexhibited works. Ekmel ErtanNazım Hikmet Richard DikbaşNermin Saybaşılı and Zeynep Sayın contribute to the exhibition catalogue with texts on Gülçin Aksoy and her artistic practice.

The talk will be held in Turkish and registration is not required to participate.
