basso is a multilayered space which is the home to a community and collective project based in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. Since 2004, basso has initiated, organized and hosted countless events and served as a communication basis for a large family of people dealing with social sciences, music, arts and hedonistic and political activism and attitudes. Since 2008 the activities were extended on a shared studio on the top floor of the same building, adding a more intimate project space and an informal residency program. Occasionally the amorphous group around basso also travels to other cities to crosseminate with the local energies. In the week of 4-11 July 2010, a bunch of bassos will live, work and interact at the annex building of Depo Istanbul as guests of Anadolu Kültür Foundation. Basso is particularly interested in the process of a loose collective work, celebrating the moments of collaboration and coincidence. The activities will reflect on the usual program of the Berlin space, thus presenting DONG, a tuesday evening informally mixing information and leisure and on wednesday a film evening . On Saturday, the annex building of Depo will boast a mix of
installations, performances and activities, manifesting the eclectic approach and spirit of basso. In the following week the informal interaction will continue in the created space.
