Art As A Critical Force: Contemporary Tunisian Art

TANDEM / SHAML Program brings together the European and Arab cultural managers with the aim to broaden the cooperation of ‘TANDEM: Cultural Managers Exchange Program’ to a wider geography. In the scope of TANDEM / SHAML, “Art as a Critical Force” is one of the projects which is implemented by the cooperation of İzmir Culture Art and Design Association (İzmir) and B’chira Art Center (Tunisia).
Project managers Tuna Yılmaz and B’chira Triki Bouazizi, organize a discussion event at DEPO on contemporary art practices in Tunisia. The topics to be discussed will be on contemporary art, life before and after the revolution in Tunisia and Tunisian artists who would like to integrate themselves in world’s conditions. Additionally, the invited artists will screen and talk on their art works.

TANDEM / SHAML program will be completed with a final event between 12-16 June 2013 at ZK/U in Berlin. TANDEM / SHAML is implemented by Al Mawred Al Thaqafy, MitOst and Anadolu Kültür with the supports of European Cultural Foundation, Robert Bosh Stiftung, Stichting Doen and Mimeta Centre for Culture and Development.
