Tarabya Cultural Academy opened in October 2011, and since September 2012 it has hosted more than 220 artists from a wide range of disciplines at its residency on the Bosphorus. The Academy’s 15th anniversary programme, Water Finds Its Way, brings more than 15 alumni back together with long-standing partner institutions from October to December 2026.

Taking place at Depo as part of the programme, the exhibition Currents brings together video works by alumni of the Academy from different generations and artistic disciplines. Focusing on movement, perception and transformation, the works trace a path that extends from within the body out into urban and rural spaces.

The exhibition Currents is supported by Stiftung Mercator and the German Consulate General Istanbul.
