Bizzat Hallediniz

The exhibition “Bizzat Hallediniz” aims to bring forward the historical facts about the events in 1915 which caused Armenians to be severed from the lands they inhabited for thousands of years.

“Bizzat Hallediniz” is an exhibition prepared by Babil Association that explores one of the greatest catastrophes in history, “deportation” of the Armenians, through archived official documents. It tracks down the major actors of 1915 as well as tracing the ways in which the events actually took place.

The exhibition content is primarily based on the telegrams sent to Ottoman provinces by Talat Pasha, Minister of Interior and the replies received from various districts. “Bizzat Hallediniz” thus makes an archive visible to a wider public; it is brought out by reviewing around 5000 telegrams from the Ottoman Archives of the Prime Minister’s Office which hold official historical documents partly open to researchers. Laws and regulations issued within the context of “deportation”, witness accounts, newspapers of the period together with Martial Court verdicts and statements in court records are also sampled and presented in the exhibition in order to give a description of 1915 as accurate as possible.
