On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of migration, the “Almancılar” are returning to Istanbul with the exhibition Love, D-Mark, and Death by the Maxim Gorki Theater, one of Berlin’s leading cultural institutions. The exhibition presents works that explore themes of longing, desire, and disappointment, while shedding light on the remarkable lives and acts of resistance of Turkish women who lived in Telefunken’s dormitory on Stresemannstraße 30 in the 1960s. A thematic selection from the 7th and final edition of the Berliner Herbstsalon, a festival held every two years at the theater, is now on view at Depo.
