Dilan Cudi Saruhan – Perhaps the Sky / The White-Scarved: Memory, Justice, and Emotional Labor

November 15, 2026, 18:00

Speakers: Besna Tosun (Saturday Mothers), Sabihe Bozan (Peace Mothers)

Moderator: Berfin Atlı

As part of Dilan Cudi Saruhan’s exhibition Perhaps the Sky, on view at Depo until November 21, a discussion will be held exploring the labor of women who regularly visit their loved ones in prison, share their emotional burdens, and preserve and archive materials produced inside by bringing them outside, as well as their practices of carrying memory. Drawing on the long-standing experience of the Peace Mothers and the Saturday Mothers, the discussion will focus on how this political labor undertaken by women has transformed into a form of resistance, and how the demand for justice is persistently and continuously upheld from within everyday life.

Dilan Cudi Saruhan’s solo exhibition Perhaps the Sky makes visible how space shapes the human being, how and in what ways objects carry memory, how the line records time, and how imagination can establish new relations even under the most constrained conditions.
