Exhibition Walk-through: Shared Sacred Sites

Veli Başyiğit

July 27, 2019, 16:00

Veli Başyiğit, the coordinator of Shared Sacred Sites, will lead a walk-through of the exhibition.

The Shared Sacred Sites exhibition, which was curated by Dionigi Albera and Manoël Pénicaud, examines a diverse range of locations in the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the Balkans where the three Abrahamic religions have coexisted. By combining contemporary art, photography, ethnographic material and digital media, the exhibition highlights the multisensory experience of pilgrimage and “sharing the sacred”, the visually compelling dimension of sacred sites and landscapes in these regions and Istanbul’s rich and multi-layered past of religious diversity and co-existence.

Shared Sacred Sites   exhibition can be visited until July 28.

The walk-through will be in Turkish.
